For whoever getting wary of their 700wx but still want to keep WM and Sprint, this is one good alternative to upgrade: WIFI, 2MP camera, SDHC microSD, GPS capable (not sure if we can use it without paying extra or not…)

Definitely YYMV. I went into Office Depot today to look at the $449 Acer laptop and they had the Compaq SR5350F Desktop on clearance for $265.91. They only had the floor model left. Seemed like a good deal so I bought it. Also got the Cannon MX310 Multifunction printer for $29 (it’s onsale for $79 and after $50 rebate for buying with the computer).

Our local Cookeville TN Lowes had just put the display models of these lights out in the clearance area at the end of one of the lighting aisles. They were originally $198 and come in two styles. One all-bronze palm tree, uses 3 40-watt bulbs, very heavy, weatherproof, long long outdoor cord with 3-prong plug. The other style is not as massive, and the palm fronds are a frosty lime green (not nearly as attractive as the all-bronze one, IMHO).
Both were marked $99, originally $198. I browsed around them casually for several minutes while waiting for my DH to come back from another aisle, and then I asked the clerk “What’s the best you can do for me on this one”, pointing to the all-bronze one. He thought a minute and then said he could go down to $75.
We brought it home, set it up in the flower garden next to the front walkway, added 3 40-watt bulbs, plugged it into an outside outlet…and WOW WOW WOW!!!! Talk about a stunning yard light..this is it!!!!

When I did some comparison searches I found that $550 is a great price by at least $125 when shipping is included. For once, the original price of the item seems realistic, rather than $1,000,000 off a widget for a final price of $0.50.

LG Blu-ray burner at Circuit City $229
This seems to be the hottest price for a blu-ray burner. It also includes software for playing blu-ray disks. No HD-DVD support, unlike earlier versions of this drive.

I thought someone else would post this first. I decided to wait to post before I decided against buying. I’m going to wait. Right now I don’t have any need for the blu-ray burning feature, but I would like to be able to play the disks.

This is around $250 at most other places, including Newegg. Free shipping or in-store pickup. FatCash for 2%. Or go through Discover and get 5% back.

Just got back from Sears Essentials in San Diego (Mission Valley)
They had the Kodak 8″ digital frame on clearance from $199 down to $70 with an additional 10% off for clearance items- came out to $62 + tax

I don;t know if this is regional so good luck. There was only one in Mission Valley, sorry guys, I had to buy it.

I went to Circuit City to buy a Slingbox Solo and a 1 port SlingLink Turbo. I was shocked oto see that the SlingLink was tagged at $40.96 on the shelf, this normally retails for $99.99. I grabbed 2, I figured for that price I might use the other one in the future. I took them to the register and the cashier scanned them, they came up at $79.99. I told the cashier the tag read $40.96, she replied to bring the tag up to her. So I went back to the shelf and grabbed the tag, to my astonishment $40.96 was for the 4 port SlingLink Turbo. I grabbed the one remaining 4 port and headed up to the cashier. Sure enough it rang up correctly, I was on my way home with the $149 device for $40.96.

I have since set up my Slingbox Solo and the SlingLink Turbo and I can’t recommend both pieces of hardware enough.

I checked Circuit City’s web site and this model is not on there. So this is YMMV if you are lucky enough to find one still sitting on the shelf at Circuit City. I had to dig back on the shelf behind the 1 port models to find it.
