A little early due to the coupon date, but wanted to get some thoughts on the quality of Toshiba laptops, service, etc. How about the price for the specs?

The nice saving grace is that Costco has the 90 day return policy and extends the manufacturer warranty an extra year. This is a Costco.com item only (not in stores).

In looking at Toshiba, it appears they have had some historical issues with screens going out, but other reviews are positive.

Also, I am not too familiar with Vista. Are there compatibility issues with games meant for XP or did MS actually get it right and allow them to work with Vista?

Thanks for your help and perhaps others will want to take advantage of this one as well. The coupon came in the coupon book I received in the mail today.

As part of their Independence Day Sale, Directron has the outstanding Western Digital 6400AAKS drive for $89.99 with free UPS shipping. I purchased this about a week ago on a similar deal, and I can tell you their customer service is excellent. They sent me an update at every point along the way including a direct link to my tracking information.

As for this drive, it is screaming fast! It uses two 333GB platters which reduces power consumption and provides higher throughput. All in all, this is an awesome drive, and for $88 it comes out to 13.75 cents per GB. Apparently there is tax for most states. I wasn’t sure about this, but I’ve been playing with their checkout system saying I’m from other states, and it is applying tax.
