Strait-Line Rolling Tape Measure - 2 Pack

28 March, 2008 (08:41) | Deals, Woot | No comments

Well I take pleasure in
Measuring
Another inch, you’ll always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Accurate measurements
In tiny increments
Sixteenth of an inch, you’ll always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly

Well my home needs to be improved
But my steel tape measure just moved
Getting dimensions I can’t prove
Can’t get into an accurate groove
Rollin with a new piece I’m like hold up
No clumsy steel tape to roll up
No big bulky ruler to fold up
Just an electronic roller
Girl you ain’t know I’m handy like Mr. Fix-It
Just tryin to measure, that’s how I kick it
Offer me a Strait-Line, you know I’ll pick it
Take your steel tape, know where to stick it?
Precision turned up to maximum
Measure twice, cut once: my maxim
How can Woot afford to two-pack ‘em?
Next time I’m in Dallas, I’ll axe ‘em
Secure in my plans, I’m sawing oak
But do I need a pencil? Nope
Where to cut now? The Strait-Line knows
Auto marking marks auto
Windows, doors, hanging stuff on walls
Strait-Line electronically computes it all
Points spaced out evenly down the hall
My house won’t fall

Well I take pleasure in
Measuring
Another inch, you’ll always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Accurate measurements
In tiny increments
Sixteenth of an inch, you’ll always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly
Always catch me rolling straightly

Hawk Apache Double Prop R/C Helicopter

28 March, 2008 (08:28) | Deals, Woot | No comments

We know what life is like. All you want to do is go to your cabin in
the woods and sit quietly, playing the cello to the eagle that may or
may not be the spirit of the woman you loved, depending on the camera
angle, and worrying about your brother, whom you think is still missing
in Vietnam. We understand. And we can help.

There’s a canyon
out back, right? The perfect place to hide a Hawk Apache Double Prop
R/C Helicopter. It’s full function, and remote controlled. Forward, left and right, and naturally, up and down. I mean, it
wouldn’t be a very good helicopter if it didn’t go up and down. It
files over 20 M high, and we’re pretty sure that M stands for meters,
but just imagine if it was miles! Those twin electric 180rpm motors
would rain hot death down on your enemies (hot death not included).

It
comes fully assembled, so don’t let that guy with the eyepatch tell you
otherwise. You can fly it right out of the box. There’s rubber wheels
that roll, flashing blue/red LED lights
mounted on the side, and four replacement blades, two “A” and two “B”.
The battery is Ni-MH, just like the one in the pacemaker of your only
friend, the guy who knew your dad in the Second World War. Seems like
maybe you should get out now and then.

So don’t just sit
around waiting to vanish at the start of the third season to be
replaced by your brother on an entirely different network. Get your
Hawk Apache Double Prop R/C Helicopter and start enjoying unstoppable
air superiority. Plus, you know, that eagle said she digs a man in
uniform.

In today’s Dallas Morning News the Fry’s ad has Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium for $13.99. Under the title it says Blu Ray however the sku # on Fry’s website is for the regular DVD version. The Blu Ray version sells for $34.99 at Circuit City pricematch 110% of the difference to save a couple of dollars more. YMMV other Fry’s ads may have the same mistake. The movie will not be released until Tuesday 4-1 good luck.

Vizio 37” High Definition LCD TV

28 March, 2008 (07:21) | Deals, Woot | No comments

Oh, Vizio VX37L, where were you in 1979,
when we were trying so frantically to copy down the phone number and
address for ordering “Mickey Mouse Disco” on LP? Operators were
standing by, but we were still new to the art of manuscription, and
couldn’t scribble fast enough to record all the information on the
screen. Apologetically, the announcer confessed that there could be no
C.O.D.s, but we didn’t care. Not knowing what a C.O.D. was, we could
have easily forgiven him their prohibition—if he’d only left that
address and phone number up a few more seconds. Jot, you fat little
fingers, jot! One… eight hundred… and then it was gone.

Yes, your 37-inch HD 1366 x 768 native LCD,
merely stunning today, would have been so mind-bogglingly dazzling back
then that we probably would have vomited from astonishment. And sure,
your support of high-definition 720p and 1080i would have been beyond
the state of the art to the point of uselessness. But what we would
have ached for with every cell in our young body, had we known such a
technology was even a distant glimmer, would have been your Zoom and
Freeze function.

What we would have given for such a
marvel back then! We could have frozen that fleeting info screen,
leisurely strolled away to fetch a pencil and paper, maybe grabbed a
juice box, moseyed back and carefully taken down the complete ordering
information in penmanship so meticulous and neat that mom would have
had no choice but to call and order straightaway to reward us.

Where were you when we needed you, Vizio VX37L? This was a limited-time offer!

90 days

Sandisk Sansa e260 4GB Media Player

28 March, 2008 (06:46) | Deals, Woot | No comments

I remember it was a cabin on a lake, upstate someplace. All
the big players were there: Tommy Kneecap, Lemke Lipke, Egg Cream Joey,
Little Bill and Fat Bill from the Buffalo outfit, Vito “Half-Breed”
Goldstein. All we knew was, somebody was making a play to be the new boss of the
nationwide organization, a tough guy di tutti tough guys, and we all
came up here to hear him out. God knows I never held a fishing pole in my life.

So
we’re sitting around this big room, drinking gin, playing gin, busting
each other’s chops. Somebody puts Bobby Darin on the hi-fi. “Mac the
Knife”, what else, right? Only I look around, there ain’t no hi-fi.
That’s when I thought – this new boss, it couldn’t be him, could it?

But
it was. The lights got real low, the talk stops, all there is is Bobby
wailing about Mac and who knows what else. Then – bam! There he is,
standing next to the fireplace! The Sandisk Sansa e260 4GB Media
Player! I heard he was in Leavenworth, but he ain’t now, unless
somebody conked me out and took me to Leavenworth while I wasn’t
looking. So while the rest of us are picking our bottom lips up off the
floor, he lays it out real straight: only he’s got the 4GB storage
capacity and 1.8” color LCD that can bring the families together. Only his MP3,
JPG, and video playback capability can command the loyalty of all the
big-time guys, and the small-time guys, too. “Here’s your new top man,
boys,” he told us. “If you can all play nice together, there’ll be lots
of multimedia fun for everybody.” We was convinced. Sansa had his soldiers.

Well,
most of us. Anteater Antonelli, he pipes up like he always did. “Ah,
your father’s mustache. You look awful refurbed to me, Sansa. Besides,
you need to run videos through your media converter software to even
load them into your memory. Well, supposin’ I don’t want to? Supposin’
I don’t want to play ball? What then, big shot?”

Poor Anteater. He never did know when to shut up. Let’s just say he never made it home from the lake.

Hey, if you buy this, you’ll need to download the manual and the SanDisk Media Converter software.

I think that this is a really good deal for a ThinkPad. I have always owned them and they are considered to be one of the best notebooks ever.

The memory is a little on the weak side. This laptop will take up to 4gb, Windows XP or Vista 32bit will only use up to 3gb. With that in mind I would add another 2gb memory module.OCZ 2GB PC2-5400 SODIMM 667MHz Pretty good deal at 29.99 I know that this is not the lowest for memory but is a reasonable deal with the free shipping.

Navigon N100 Pocket Loox Portable GPS - $109.99

28 March, 2008 (04:59) | Deals, Woot | No comments

You’ve probably read the info on the back of her fold-out,
full-length portrait. The one where she’s in the ice cave, with a husky
or something. Isn’t she gorgeous? So anyway, you know she’s into
firearms, surfing and Thai cuisine. You know she goes for “chiseled”
guys. And if you know me at all, you know that I can’t stand loud
noises, can’t swim, and am extremely sensitive to spicy foods. Let’s
just say that if I took her out for gai himaphan, our romantic dinner
date’d be playing chicken with an inevitable digestive mishap the likes
of which would ruin my chances forever. And “chiseled?” Yeah, like a
sandwich bag full of jam. But here’s how I plan to win the heart of
Kiki Summermoon, SKINDISCRETION magazine’s “Ms. Behavior of the Month” from October, 1997:

I
also know from her centerfold questionnaire that she likes fellas “who
know their way around.” Well, I have a terrible sense of direction, and
very little familiarity with the Alabama town that my research reveals
is her current place of residence.

But I’ve got a secret
weapon! A little digital Cyrano that’s going to make me look like the
most natural navigator Ms. Summermoon’s ever seen! It’s the Navigon N100 Pocket Loox Portable GPS.
About the size of a cell phone, it’ll guide me on every step of the
long, romantic walk I’m planning for us. I’ll load up a micro SD card
with maps of her Dixieland town (the Loox doesn’t have internal map
storage), and off we’ll go.

Powered by Windows, the Loox can
also display photos and movies as well as play mp3s. So if Kiki asks
about it, I’ll just say it’s a media player or something.

Meanwhile,
I’ll be winning her over with my astonishing depth of knowledge about
the Incredible Hulk. A lot of people don’t know all the changes he’s
been through, as the Savage Hulk, Joe Fixit, the intelligent ‘90s
period… There’s a lot more to it than people think, and she’ll be
impressed that I know all of that.

By the time we’ve made
our way back to her place, she’ll forget all about her other criteria.
So what if I don’t handle guns? Who cares that I can’t surf? What
difference does it make that we’ll never share a bowl of Massaman curry

And I’ll owe it to my Navigon Loox that she even gave me a chance.

Razer Diamondback Salamander or Chameleon Gaming Mouse

28 March, 2008 (04:29) | Deals, Woot | No comments

“Mary Blotter!” the wizard yelled from his high throne in the lunchroom. “Approach the sorting shoes!”

Mary
swallowed as she began to walk forward. This was it! This was the big
decision! She looked around the room at all the students and wondered
what it would be like in just a minute from now, when the decision had
been made. Would she be a Razer Diamondback Salamander or a Razer
Diamondback Chameleon Gaming Mouse?

Of course, the choice
was out of her hands. Even her new friends, Herman and Rhonda, had no
influence over the sorting shoes. Mary felt her heart jump as she
realized that they could even be assigned different mice! What would
become of their friendship? If Rhonda was a Red Salamander, and Herman
was a Green Chameleon! How could they find anything in common when all
they shared was 1600dpi optical sensor with On-The-Fly Sensitivity™
adjustment, Seven independently programmable Ultra-large non-slip
buttons, a 16-bit ultra-wide data path, GlowPipe™ non-slip side rails,
Zero-acoustic Ultraslick™ Teflon feet, a Seven-foot, lightweight,
non-tangle cord and a Gold-plated USB Connector? How could it even matter that they shared the same driver, which can be found right here by the way, when they had to eat at different tables at lunchtime?

Mary
tried to tell herself it didn’t matter so that she would stay calm, but
it didn’t work. She felt her legs shake as she stepped into the sorting
shoes. This was it, the decision, the one that might shape her entire
career as a magician, the one that would certainly pick her lifelong
friends, this horrible decision about what color her mouse would be was
out of her hands…

Apple Mac Mini

28 March, 2008 (04:24) | Deals, Woot | No comments

If there is one thing which will turn a casual internet conversation
into an oily black sludge faster than the sentence “Firefly was
cancelled for a reason”, it’s the question “Which is better, Mac or
PC”? On the one hand, the PC has so many games, freeware applications,
hardware options and ways to emulate other platforms. On the other
hand, the answer is Mac. That’s why we’ve got these Apple Mac Minis
from late 2006.

Now we know, Mac people, late 2006 is light
years in the past as far as technology is concerned. There’s no Leopard
on this thing, only Tiger. Plus the Intel CoreDuo processor is only
1.83Ghz, and you’ll only get 1GB of RAM,
expandable to 2GB. There’s no monitor, mouse or keyboard. But this
isn’t about what you can do. It’s about being cool. Don’t you rock the
party in a vintage jacket? Just think of this as vintage tech. Who
cares if fatty over there can manage to watch Voyager while playing
Portal and opening Photoshop? You’re the one getting the nod from the
bouncer.

This particular Apple Mac Mini is just 2 inches
tall, and 6.5 inches square. You get a Super Drive, which is the one
that burns DVDs, and an 80GB hard drive. There’s a 10/100/1000 Gigabit
Ethernet, so when somebody wants to hear a little dance music, you won’t need to look anywhere but the internet. You’ve also got a FireWire 400, 4 ports of USB 2.0, 1 DVI Out, 1 VGA Out
with included adapter, a combined
Optical Digital Audio In/Audio Line In, and a Combined Optical Digital
Audio Out/Headphone Out. There’s Bluetooth 2.0, a built-in Airport
Extreme 802.11g wireless card, and it comes with iLife ‘06 installed
and an iLife ‘08 DVD in the box. You also
get Front Row and the Apple Remote, which lets you enjoy omni-media
from across the room, like you were Martha Stewart.

Now be
ready, cause a deal like this Apple Mac Mini is gonna scare some
people. Just watch, all the angry PC fans will be in our comments
complaining about typical Mac arrogance and everything that doesn’t
work on OS X. It might even reach the point
that our regular visitors from Whedonesque.com will find it really hard
to keep on message. But don’t let the internoise scare you into
forgetting that the future is brushed metal. And besides, wouldn’t your
iPod be happier with a little friend?

Warranty: 90 Day Woot, Optional 2 Year AppleCare Protection Plan

Features:

  • Macintosh OS X.4 Tiger
  • 1.8 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor with 667 MHz system bus
  • 1 Gigabyte DDR2 SDRAM (2×512mb), Expandable up to 2 Gigabytes

Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset

28 March, 2008 (04:12) | Deals, Woot | No comments

All right! March Madness! Set out the chips and dip and get some extra beer because we’re going ALL! THE! WAY!
I’m pumped to see… what? Really? Why didn’t anyone tell me? You tried?
My phone was in the other room? Aw, man, I wish I had a Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset!

The
130 hours of standby time would have let me keep the headset with me. If I had a Motorola H500 Bluetooth
Headset I’d use the control over 3-way calling to tell you all how
sorry I was. I wouldn’t even have to use the hold or the mute button to
hide my laughter because I really would have meant it.

The
advanced volume controls have orientation technology that makes sure
they’ll always be on top.  All you can do is look at the blue LED
that notifies you when the headset is in use and think about your bets.
Your non-refundable bets that were for today. And my bookie didn’t say
anything. Now I know why he was smiling from ear to ear. And the
Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset could have worked on both, since it’s designed for either ear.

Anyway
I got all these chips and there’s some pizza in the oven and I got a
cake. You want some cake? We could watch Are You Smarter Than a 5th
Grader? if you want. That can get pretty intense especially since it
takes an hour, which is exactly how long it takes the Motorola H500 Bluetooth
Headset to charge. Or there’s a 700 Club Telethon that goes right into
figure skating! Hey, you gotta be a real athlete to pull off figure
skating, you know! Yeah, okay, see you next week, then.

I guess I’ll just wait for The Simpsons to come on and wish I had a Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset. At least nothing else can go… is that something burnin… AW NO MY PIZZAS

Warranty: 90 days

Features:

  • Compatible with Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones that support headset and hands-free profiles
  • Ergonomic earhook with improved back housing design to form fit to your ear
  • Enhanced audio performance
  • Up to 8 hours of talk time and 130 hours of standby time
  • Multi-function button to control 3-way calling, call start and end, hold, mute
  • Removable earhook to allow the headset to be worn on either ear
  • Advanced volume controls include orientation technology to assure that volume controls will always be upright
  • Blue LED light to notify when the headset is in use, or turn off this feature if you choose
  • Bluetooth 1.2 provides quicker pairing, better audio with less dropped calls and reduced interference from other devices
  • Charge time is less than 1 hour

RCA Dual Format DVD Recorder w/ DivX, HDMI and HD Upconversion - $59.99

28 March, 2008 (03:58) | Deals, Woot | No comments

Hey, I admit I’m not what I used to be. But what VCR
is? Time was, those were the three hottest letters in home
entertainment. VCRs like me were electronics royalty, toasted
everywhere from the White House to the house next door. I even heard
about some teenage girl in North Philly trading her newborn baby for a VCR. Not that I endorse that kind of thing. Point is, we were hot. Everybody wanted a VCR. And we earned that respect. Back in my heyday, you could go out on a Thursday night and I’d have your whole NBC lineup waiting for you when you came home, from Cosby straight through to L.A. Law. Yeah, even Night Court. I had a strong stomach back then.

But you don’t want to hear some old coot grinding his tapeheads about the glory days. You kids today prefer something like this RCA DVD Recorder. No squeaky wheels or bulky cassettes with this little hotshot – just sleek, silent dual-format DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/-RW action. Says here it can also do something called “DivX playback”. And this whole HD upconversion thing, with the HDMI output and all that, that’s a young man’s game. Or so I assume, since I don’t know what any of it means. Sounds fancy, though.

Yeah, you enjoy your fancy RCA DVD Recorder with DivX and HDMI. But when you get tired of how easy and convenient it is to use, and how great the picture looks, remember your old pal the VCR. I’ll be there, spinning my capstans until they put me in a hole in the ground.

Warranty: 90 days

Features:

  • Dual format recording – Record from your TV, camcorder, or other video device using either DVD+R/+RW or DVD-R/RW discs for total convenience
  • Easy recording – As easy to use as the familiar VCR, but you get the advantage of recording your favorite TV shows and other content on long-lasting DVDs
  • DivX certified – DivX capability helps you save on blank DVD discs because it compresses video content to fit more on a disc while still maintaining high visual quality. Plays all versions of DivX video (including DivX®6)
  • HDMI output with HD upconversion –Connects the DVD player to your HDMI equipped television for stunning digital images from DVD. The interface is a simple one-cable design so hookup is easy, and you’ll get near HD-quality images from your current DVD library with the upconversion feature.
  • DV-Input
w/Camcorder Control – This high quality digital connection is ideal for
transfer of Digital Video (DV) camcorder home videos over to DVD. It also includes camcorder control to simplify the process
  • Front Audio/Video Input Jacks – Allows convenient hook-up of camcorders, mp3 players and other devices
  • Interactive User Interface – With this unit’s user friendly interface, DVD recording and playback have never been easier
  • Progressive Scan output
  • 181 Channel NTSC Tuner
  • Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 output
  • Disc Library with Live Preview
  • Playback Formats: DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DivX, VCD, SVCD, CD, CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA, JPEG, Picture CD

Whistler PI-400W Power Inverter

28 March, 2008 (03:45) | Deals, Woot | No comments

Che Guevara. Thomas Paine. Martin Luther. And now, the Whistler PI-400W
Power Inverter. All were refurbs, in a way, pulled from the life they
expected into a new role they never could have imagined. All were
dedicated to converting existing power into a steady stream that the
people could use. But only the refurbished Whistler PI-400W Power
Inverter could handle 800 Watt peak power with a Smart Surge Control to
allow appliances to start up smoothly. And only the Whistler PI-400W
Power Inverter had voltage protection, shutting down when input exceeds
tolerable limits, protecting the battery, and short circuit protection,
keeping your appliance safe. And there’s a cooling fan, but Martin
Luther had that too, so it’s not such a big deal. But regardless, don’t
fall before the tyranny of “the man”’s electricity. Make a smoothy
while watching TV in your car, thanks to the Whistler PI-400W Power
Inverter. Viva La Revolution!

Warranty: 90 Day Whistler

SanDisk Sansa e130 Blue 512MB MP3/FM Tuner/SD slot

28 March, 2008 (03:41) | Deals, Woot | No comments

Somewhere out there – in a
cave in the Phillippines*, perhaps, or in the sub-basement of an
abandoned Detroit tenement – lives somebody who still doesn’t have an MP3
player. When this modern-day Rip van Winkle stumbles shakily into the
modern age, we’ll hand him the SanDisk Sansa e130 Blue 512MB MP3 player.

Gateway ML6230 Laptop Computer

28 March, 2008 (03:39) | Deals, Woot | No comments

Outside the house Mr. Simpson announced
He got a Gateway ML6230 Laptop Computer
He pointed out the 512 megs of RAM
And Sally said she’d never seen cuter
She got to her room and happy tears splashed
The 802.11g Wireless
She picked up her father’s old system
And she threw it on the fireplace

She knew from the start
deep down in her heart
This refurbed laptop looked pretty smart
But her mother said yes you’re right
But you’re hardly blessed
It runs Vista OS

The 15” screen had a glossy display
And Sally loved the track pad scroll zone
There were four USB and one VGA
And a Firewire on it’s own
Sally held that Gateway close to her chest
And felt the hard disk spinnin’ away
80 Gigs wasn’t really a ton of space
But for her needs it was okay

She knew from the start
deep down in her heart
This refurbed laptop looked pretty smart
But her mother said yes you’re right
But you’re hardly blessed
It runs Vista OS

By six o’clock the Lithium battery
Was charged and ready to roll!
Sally’d read all the manuals
Now the Internet was her goal
She noticed that the DVD Combo drive
made CD-RW’s too
The modem was grand but the Ethernet LAN
Was what she now hoped to use

The laptop went crazy!
As Vista booted away!
There were a hundred thousand updates!
And she broke down in a rage!

But soon it booted sixteen times
And everything seemed grand
Sally decided to test things out
In good ol’ Internet land
She was sure the 4-in-1 Memory card reader
Would handle anything she had
And the microphone jack and the headphone jack
Would be a big hit with the lads

She knew from the start
deep down in her heart
This refurbed laptop looked pretty smart
But her mother said yes you’re right
But you’re hardly blessed
It runs Vista OS

Her PC picked up an IP
And everything started freaking
Some guy got into her father’s files
And her photos started leaving
The drive got a new partition which turned
Into a server for use in China
She was picked up by a botnet
And her MySpace caught on fire

The laptop went crazy!
And Vista rebooted away!
She heard you could shut down that feature but
She didn’t know how today!

Sally shut down that Gateway
And put it back on the shelf.
She went back to her bedroom
And read a book all by herself
Vista pushed some upgrades through
And things got a little better
But Sally cried herself to sleep
Dreaming of Steve Jobs’s sweater

She knew from the start
deep down in her heart
This refurbed laptop looked pretty smart
But her mother said yes you’re right
But you’re hardly blessed
It runs Vista OS
