I was in Sears today and they had several of the 2nd gen ipod nanos in the case with the original list prices on them.
I had them check the prices and they were $99 and $149.
Same price as the refurbs, but new is much better for gifts.

If you’re not familiar with the Reward Zone program, click here first. The everyday Rewards Zone program amounts to 2% back in gift certificates.

Link to flyer.

Starting Nov 4, log on to MyRewardZone.com/holiday. You can pick 1 of the following:

1. Earn $15 in bonus reward certificates (750 points) when you spend > $500
Amounts to 5% back on a $500 purchase to 4% back on a $750 purchase. If you are spending more than $750 or less than $500, choose option #2.

2. Earn double points when shopping in store before 11AM (except Black Friday, 11/23)
Amounts to 4% back on any size purxhase. If you are spending between $500 - $750, choose option #1, otherwise, choose this option unless you are exclusively buying the brands in option #3. #2 is probably the best option for most of us.

3. Earn triple points on BB brands (Dynex, Rocketfish, Insignia, Geek Squad, init products)
Amounts to 6% back on the listed brands. Generally overpriced items unless on sale or clearance.

4. Get a free 6-month trial of geek squad online secured data back-up service, including photos, important files and more.
Best stated by nafetsnafets @ SD, “yuck”

5. Donate the value of the points you earn to Toys for Teens from the day you choose this reward through Dec 22, 2007.
Bah, Humbug!

Overall, option #2 seems to be the best choice for most people.

It seems that once you make your choice, you may not be able to change it. Choose wisely.

Thanks to nafetsnafets @ SD.

Garmin nuvi 200 ~$228 shipped at Samsclub.com

Garmin nuvi 200, $222.66 (+$5.24 shipping to me) at SamsClub.com

Nuvi 200 at Samsclub.com

Comparison vs. the nuvi 250W that’s $300 at Costco.com

Essentially the only differences from the 250W are a slightly smaller screen (but the 200 is also smaller and lighter) and doesn’t include Canada and Alaska maps (just continental U.S., Hawaii, and Puerto Rico). If you don’t need Canada/Alaska maps, in my opinion this is a much better deal.

It’s also a much better deal than the Garmin C-series that float around for about this price — the nuvi 200 is much smaller than the C-series, has a much brighter screen, more sensitive GPS receiver, various extra travel/media features, and is shipping with the 2008 maps which are hit-and-miss with the C-series. And though the 200 is available for a few bucks less on Pricegrabber, at Sam’s you’re covered by their excellent return policy.

The rebate used to be $290 before. Now it is $340.

You must keep the service for 6 months

6 months HSI + Digital Cable + Digital Phone = 6×100 = 600

600 - 340 = 260

260/6 = ~43.50/month for six months.

After this you can go your own way or pay the regular price for another 6 months. After a total of 12 months, the monthly rate goes up.

Compact fluorescent 13 watt 4 pack $2.99 AR CVS NJ

1 November, 2007 (17:20) | Deals, Fat Wallet | No comments

Rating: 1 Posted By: ajr55555

This still doesn’t match the deals in CA, but is the lowest price per bulb that I’ve seen so far in NJ. CVS in NJ has a 4 pack of 13 watt CFL bulbs for $6.99 (with card), and there is a $4 rebate form in the box, making it $2.99 for 4 CFL bulbs. There is a limit of 2 rebates per household. The shelf tag just said NOVEMBER, so I guess this is good all month. The shelf tag also had the NJ Clean Energy logo on it, so this is most likely only for NJ, unless similar deals are being run in other states. The brand is Round the House, which is one of the CVS house brands, so I don’t know what the quality of these is. There is also a 2 pack for $5.49 with a $2 rebate in the box, but that’s not nearly as good a deal.

Motorola Razr2 V9 $63.67 after $100 LetsTalk Rebate and Fatcash. AT&T 2 Year Contract of $39.99 plan or higher.

1 November, 2007 (16:13) | Deals, Fat Wallet | No comments

Rating: 1 Posted By: illegalfob

First, Posts About Cellphone Plans/Deals almost always get Flamed! So this post is recommended for people who have expired cellphone contracts and are looking to upgrade but stay at the cheaper $39.99 plans without getting a completely crap phone.

Breakdown of the Deal: [Only for those Switching to AT&T and not already on it. CA & TX Residents will get hit with Tax on phone usually $30]

Motorola Razr2 V9 is $199 - $100 LetsTalk Rebate (2 year contract) - $35.33 (FatCash reported back) = $63.67
with New AT&T/Cingular Nation 450 Minutes Plan with Rollover $39.99/month
Activation Fee - All Carriers charge a $36 or so activation fee for any new account.

1) Sign into your FatCash account and then click through to the LetsTalk Fatcash Page to open a new browser and tracking ticket.

2) At LetsTalk Website - Order by Phone by clicking the upper right icon which will popup a window with your PHONE CODE. Give the LetsTalk Operator your Phone Code (they’ll usually ask in beginning)! Important so they can report back to Fatwallet later.

3) Remember to tell operator that you want to PORT your current Cellphone #. (*You must give them your current wireless provider and Account Number)

4) While Ordering on the Phone, MAKE SURE that no additional monthly features are added (i.e. text messages, or data etc.) Confirm with LetsTalk Sales Person your total - $39.99/month only, activation fee, and $199 up front for Razr2. You should have a browser window open on your computer with the Razr2 V9 Page and AT&T plans for reference while Ordering over the Phone.

Factors of Why this Appears to Be a Deal:
1) When I was looking to switch cellphones, I considered the Apple iPhone, Blackberry Curve, and Samsung U700 Ultra Edition Slider. However, I realized that these phones (albeit AWESOME) were simply in a different tier and cost too much for a certain class of cheap-ass citizens like myself.

    a) Apple iPhone is $400 plus tax and $60/month plan charge. Great if you can afford it.
    b) Blackberry Curve is FREE after lots of LetsTalk rebates but requires 1) Phone Plan and 2)$29.99 or higher Data Plan! That’s about $70 or $80 per month for 2 Years!
    c) Samsung U700 is my favorite Over-Seas/Import Slider Phone but very hard to find at a good price with AT&T. I know of an Asian store that has it for $150 with a 2 year AT&T $39.99 plan. However, the U700 maybe free with Asian stores that offer T-Mobile service.

2) Motorola Razr2 V9 is still new and is Over-Priced Everywhere else. It does have a sleek build with metal and glass and has an external touch screen button. Built in 45mb memory. MicroSD expansion slot up to 2GB.

Cons or Negative Factors of Motorola Razr2 V9 for AT&T
1) It only comes in a frackin’ Maroon-ish Color for AT&T! The Sprint and Verizon Version has a better silverish color.
2) Just like the first Razr V3, it might become over-trendy and worthless in a year or so.

Solution - As with any once-over-priced phone, you can eBay it about 6 months later (after you confirm getting all your LetsTalk Rebates) and use the cash to buy an import phone from an Asian cellphone store or eBay. (LA County and New York City - Chinatown Manhattan or Flushing areas are the best) I personally like the Nokia imports like the N93 or N95, but they are frackin expensive!

I was looking for a new webcam and spotted this one at my local Best Buy (San Antonio, TX). They have it marked down to 26.99 out the door. This is clearance so of course YMMV and unfortunately not available online. It’s a decent cam and it even comes with a mini-headset. It still retails for around $50 everwhere else I’ve looked.

Edit: Read a little further down the page please. Directly from the site:

USB 2.0 and 1.1 compatible
Extremely versatile, Live! Cam Notebook Pro works perfectly with computers that have either USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 connectivity.
