Would be better if it was a Quad but considering it comes with Vista Ultimate it doesn’t seem like a bad deal. It also comes with an HD-DVD drive and built-in wireless so those are a plus too. If you need a PCI slot you can always rip out the modem.

Like many, I am shopping for a new reciever before the holiday.

It seems like everyone here is an Onkyo fan. But if you are a fan of the Sony ES series, Crutchfield has a good deal on a new, not refurbished STR-DA5200ES for $799 plus free shipping. It is still 1029 at Sony.com
For the record, it is higer rated on Cnet than the Onkyo TX-SR805. And the graphical interface has been getting great reviews.
