In our paper I saw an Ad for the 2000 - 2006 Set of uncirculated Sacagawea golden dollar coins for just $4.95. At the very least you make a couple bucks if you don’t want to keep these coins…

You can 1-800-291-2104. Of course they keep you on the phone for about 5 minutes and try to UPSELL you on other items that they say are “free to review” but you don’t have to accept any of them.

Limit One per Household though…

Make $10 (or more!) AR/AC @ staples for TaxCut Premium Federal+State+e-file + other softwares, slight YMMV

3 January, 2007 (23:16) | Deals, Fat Wallet | No comments

Rating: 65 Posted By: hardtofind

1. Go to staples free software w/ tax purchase page, choose at least the following two softwares:

$44.99 McAfee PC Protection Plus ($45 rebates (2) (both easy rebates and no UPC/receipt needed) + $20 upgrade/competitive MIR. You can qualify for the competitive rebate using Norton Confidential below & no proof of purchase necessary for this one due to McAfee package printing error (they didn’t print POP), info, link by FullTimeDad, canucklehead)

$39.99 Norton Confidential ($40 MIR (requires UPC) and $20 upgrade/competitive rebate (requires top flap inside box). You can qualify for the competitive rebate using McAfee above)

2. Then choose some filler (a smaller FAR is $14.95 Online PC Backup 3-Month Service Edition with $15 MIR, the one caveat with this one is that its rebate terms asks for original UPC of both itself and the tax software, and the original packing slip. If you’re not comfortable with the terms, buy a ream of paper or other small fillers, or better, buy MyAttorney Home & Business with $35 easy rebate (no UPC/sales receipt required)).

3. Now buy the main thing:

$59.99 H&R Block TaxCut Premium Federal+State+e-file (or if you prefer you could buy Turbotax Premier and get rid of the filler, or choose any other software here, just make sure your total purchase is over $150).
NOTE! Those who meet income guidelines are better off buying only the $29.99 Taxcut Premium Fed+State and take advantage of the free fed tax e-filing to save another $15. In that case, make sure you used the MyAttorney as filler or you need to pad the deal with Money Deluxe 2007 or other software to get over $150 order total).

4. Finally, spend $1 to buy a $30 off $150 coupon from eBay (search for “Staples coupon” on eBay, plenty available but some don’t like the idea, that’s why I said slightly YMMV).

Math:
$44.99 McAfee
+ $39.99 Norton Confidential
+ $14.95 PC backup (or better, the $35 MyAttorney Home & Business)
+ $59.99 H&R TC premium state & efile
+ $1 for $30 off $150 coupon from eBay
—————————————
$160.92 subtotal (or $180.96 for MyAttorney)
- $65 McAfee rebates (2 easy rebates + one MIR)
- $60 Norton Confidential rebates (2 MIR)
- $15 PC backup mail-in rebate (1) (or $35 for MyAttorney, easy rebate)
- $30 coupon
—————————————
- $10.08 AR

So you earn $10 AR (before tax. To offset some tax, DON’T FORGET 4% FatCash and Staples rewards!). BTW, to qualify for the rebates above, you do not need to buy everything in one order (the deal was constructed in one order to use the $30 off $150 coupon), but miserTen mentioned that you need to buy all easy rebate items on one receipt to utilize the easy rebate, otherwise you’d have to mail too (I confirmed by calling Staples easy rebate center at 1-877-549-9794). You do have to purchase all of them from Staples for this deal to work.

For those who do not want e-file, buy premium fed+state only using an order constructed by thrust:
TaxCut Premium+State 29.99
Money Deluxe 2007 39.99-40 MIR
McAfee 44.99-10 SER-35 SER-20 MIR (SER = Staples Easy Rebate)
Norton 39.99-40 MIR-20 MIR
-30 Coupon
Total ~= -40 & you need to deal with 4 MIR and 2 SER.
With the $20 coupon (see below) you can put in MyAttorney+$1 filler and single out Money (since Money isn’t using SER anyway); total is -60 + Tax.

Note that if you want to make more money, first get a $20 off $20+ coupon using this thread. Then take the H&R software out of the above package to buy it separately with the $20 off coupon (the $20 does not stack with the $30 off coupon). To pad the above package back to $150+, you can use Money Deluxe 2007 and other software in staples free software w/ tax purchase page. Note that doing the deal this way may turn easy rebates into MIR though according to miserTen

Then you’d earn $30 AR (but more rebates to deal with and you’re out one coupon).

If you got taxcut in the mail, you could get another $10 rebate, detail see this thread.

The more adventurous could try PM Money, Taxcut, etc. to WalMart, sam’s club etc. (both OOS), or officemax and make the deal sweeter. Big YMMV on software that has MIR though.

Staples B&M also has those travel suitcase package ($74 value as they claimed) for $100+ purchase, for some reason I couldn’t stack it with the $30 off $150 coupon. Might need to stack more FAR software to make it work.

Some credit goes to sakrlewu, bpvh, Way2Cheap.

BTW, for those who do not like multi-rebates, please see my comments two posts down. Thanks.
